Total: 38367 km

I keep thinking how much the United States reminds me of Australia; the wide roads, pickup trucks, the shopping centers etc. Well, with all due respect to Australia it is probably Australia that looks more like the US than the other way around, but since I went to Australia first, that is my reference point.

My route through Florida is completely flat. The highest points I pass during a day is the bridges over the rivers and freeways. That combined with a nice steady tailwind makes for some easy cruising. I’m all for crazy cycling adventures in the mountains, but for now I’m very much enjoying some easy progress north.

I have been staying with friends every night since I arrived in Florida (thanks guys!!), but tonight it looked like a wild camping night. The Florida coast is very developed, but I noticed an area on my map that looked more remote. True enough, no problem at all putting up my tent right at the beach for a night sleeping with the sound of waves.

I love life out here on the road!

Great picture of the Jupiter Lighthouse!

  2. Thanks Brent. Sounds like you have been there 🙂

  3. The route may be flat, by it’s by no means boring! Nothing like a coastal ride!
