Day 1690: San Jose – Orotina: Back to Everyday Life

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on May - 31 - 2015

Distance: 45.93 km
Ride time: 2:00:00
Average: 22.96 km/h
Max speed: 56.35 km/h
Total: 35264 km

It required a bit of adjustment to return from the high octane life I had been living in the US for the last 10 days. On the other hand, when returning to everyday life means cycling around the world, that is really not so bad 🙂

I spent another night at the wonderful Bekuo Hostel in San Jose – doing absolutely nothing. The next morning I took the bus over to my friend Jorge’s house to reunite with my Bianchi. A big thank you to Jorge and his wonderful family for picking me up from the airport and for the great tour of San Jose the other day.

I had a few new gadget with me from the US. One was a new Garmin Edge 510 cycling GPS which I was very exciting about installing. Thanks to Juan TG9AJR for the great support. I plan to visit Juan in Guatemala in about two weeks from now to get a chance to say thank you in person as well. Hasta pronto amigo.

The first day was all downhill all the way from San Jose until Orotina. Lucky enough that there was no big climbs as the shape might not be at 100% after that US trip. It will come back soon enough though…
