Day 61: Kuşadasi – Söke

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Dec - 05 - 2010

Distance: 23.61 km
Ridetime: 1:23:18
Average: 17.4 km/h
Total distance: 3272 km

While being on the road I almost never know where I will wake up the next morning. This was certainly an unexpected place.

I have done very little cycling in the last 3 weeks. Not because I didn’t feel like it – the legs are in super shape. I just met so many nice people that it took a while to leave.

I don’t like being in a hurry. On the other hand I need to be in Egypt for Christmas because my mum, sisters and even grandparents are coming down for the holidays! I have decided to take a few buses in order to make it to the Syrian border faster and have enough time to explore the next countries without having to race through. In Söke I learned there was a night bus to Antalya. For the same price as a hotel room I could wake up 500 km further down the road and save a week of cycling. Done deal.
