Day 90: Cairo

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jan - 09 - 2011

Rain is clearly not a thing that is expected too much of in Egypt. The rain showers we had in the last 24 hours, nothing too expectational if you are from Denmark, had completely cut off the roads between Hurghada and Cairo for the last 12 hours.

As they opened again, it was still slow going. The trip that would normally take 5 hours took 10.

Arriving in Cairo I could once again conclude that Christmas and New Year means inflated hotel prices. I used all my negotiation skills to get the price down to a more normal level. That was when the hotel manager asked “why are cyclists always such hard bargainers?”.
