Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Feb - 20 - 2014

Distance: 79.41 km
Ride time: 5:35:21
Average: 14.20 km/h
Total: 23394 km

I think both Michael and I had a “Monday morning” day as we left Bolson. These days comes once in a while at home, and on the bicycle as well. It was gray and cold as we left town heading north.

I have probably written this many times before, but I’m really looking forward to warmer temperatures now. Since Ushuaia I have believed that summer will arrive within a week or two, but it just hasn’t happened yet (2800 km and counting). Although there are signs; in Bolson we saw the first swimming pool, and even a couple of palm trees. Let’s see what next week brings.

At the end of the day we were met by a 15 km long climb. The climb was not steep, and I enjoyed pushing myself to the limit riding up as fast as I could. One of these days I want to take the bags of the bike and check my shape on a climb like this. I imagine the shape is not too bad.

On the other side of the pass we descended towards a lake where we planned to camp. It was quiet the adventure looking for a good spot. As we tried to find our way to the shore we ended up in thick bush. Luckily we didn’t get too lost and managed to find a beautiful camp spot by a small river instead.
