Day 1764, Apex – Youngsville: Southern Style BBQ

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Sep - 08 - 2015

Distance: 57.6 km
Ride time: 2:54:51
Average: 19.8 km/h
Max speed: 49.3 km/h
Total: 39749 km

Will had told me that the Raleigh region had been voted one of the best places to live in the US – and I could see why; Good weather, affordable price levels, good beer, and good music. Sounds like a winner. After saying our goodbyes I was cycling through downtown Raleigh on my way north. Luckily I was leaving on a Sunday morning, so traffic wasn’t bad.

I only had a short ride on the program today. The idea was to cycle up to Nate N4YDU in Youngsville and spend a night at his house. I have known Nate for a long time but only got to meet him and his wife Allison in person this year. Nicer people are hard to find.

Nate is a school teacher. After I arrived we drove over to some of his teacher friends for a BIG dinner. There were appetizers, soups, stuffed peppers, roasted chicken, salads, and several deserts. Great night in great company.

Tomorrow I should be in Virginia!
