Day 1779 – 1781: The Connecticut Radio Tour

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Oct - 18 - 2015

I have been doing a lot of cycling and visited a lot of people lately. I’m truly grateful for the hospitality I have experienced, but I was also reaching a point where I needed a break from always being on the go and sleeping in a new place every night. For this reason I had been looking much forward to visit my good friend Dan and stay some days at his place in Connecticut.

I enjoyed hanging around the house chatting with Dan and getting some much needed updates done on the blog. As Dan grew up in the area he also pretty much knows all the radio people around. We went on a tour to say hi to quite a few. First stop was Tom K1KI.

We then made a pilgrim visit to what is the Mecca of amateur radio – the Headquaters of the American Radio Relay League in Newington. As always I was very well received.

After the visit to the ARRL HQ we went over to say hi to Dave NN1N on his beautiful hill top property. It seems like every radio guy has a nice cat around here 🙂

Thanks Dan for such an amazing stay. I enjoyed the quiet time, the food, and all the social meetings with everybody up here in this corner of the country. I will be back!
