Day 3: Rostock – Güstrow

Ridetime: 3:58:57

Total distance: 249 km

I had almost forgot how easy it is to meet interesting people at hostels. After arriving last night I soon found myself in interesting conversation with Lee from Australia who had travelled around the world four  times, and Charlotte from Germany who spoke more languages than I do.

I took it easy in the morning and didn’t leave the hostel before noon. Then after a few hours of sightseeing in Rostock it was time to head south.

Is it a rule that the weather turns great as soon as you travel a few hours south of the Danish border? At least it seems like that was happening to me. Fantastic weather all day.

I didn’t really do much detailed planning before leaving home, so I was positively surprised to learn that there is a bike route that takes you all the way from Copenhagen to Berlin. I should be following this the next days.

One Response so far.

  1. I found out, recently, that there are bike routes all through Europe. One I was looking at, recently, was one along the length of the Danube.
