Day 163: Lampang – Thoen

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Mar - 18 - 2011

Distance: 88.38 km
Ridetime: 03:58:06
Average: 22.3 km/h
Total distance: 7362 km

Can someone enlighten me on how to take a shower here? Out of the left shower head comes burning hot water. Out of the right the water is very cold.

For some reason I woke up with a light headache and felt tired the whole day (and I didn’t drink any Chang beer yesterday). No more flying up the hills.

In Thoen I found a funny place to sleep. The town has a Wild West feeling to it. Everyone is driving pickup trucks. Apparently there is also some smuggling activities going on due to the proximity with the Burmese border. I did pass a few police check points. Luckily they were not interested in me at all.

Fred Bouwman, a fellow long distance cyclist I first met in Syria and then in India is also in Thailand now. We are in the same area, so perhaps we will get a chance to meet again tomorrow.

    HI Thomas,

Great going. It looks like an instant geyser, it
only gives you hot water, there is no way to reduce the
temperature. You will to dilute the hot water with cold water to have a bath.

Yes, maybe you could point both shower heads upwards and then hope they mix in the air before hitting you ;-D

  3. Haha, love that suggestion Morten 🙂
