Day 816: Peterborough – Princetown

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jan - 07 - 2013

Distance: 38.56 km
Ridetime: 2:25:09
Average: 16.0 km/h
Max speed: 45.9 km/h
Total distance: 16697 km

In the morning the Australians at the camp site were preparing their Christmas lunch. I enjoyed another extended breakfast with the French guys from yesterday before continuing on the Great Ocean Road.

With all the amazing views around every corner today was more about enjoying the sights rather thancycling. The strong coastal wind didn’t mean much to me as I only had to cycle a few kilometres before the next amazing view appeared.

As all Australians were celebrating Christmas most of the tourists I saw along the way were Asians. I guess they don’t celebrate Christmas and had chosen this day to see the attractions.

I would have loved to camp at one of the amazing beaches I was passing, but the wind had been strong all day so I had to hide my tent behind the dunes. At least I was still enjoying the sound of waves during my dreams.
