Day 1220 – 1223: Cochrane

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Feb - 02 - 2014

We were not the only cyclists at the camp ground in Cochrane. Over lunch and dinner talk was going on about how rough the road would be or how high the climbs to expect in the days to come.

It seems like few people cycle through Carretera Austral without bike problems. Broken wheels and cracked racks are the norm. I hope my Scott holds hope.

I have really enjoyed the last week of cycling together with Michael. One of the advantages of knowing Michael is his cooking skills. When he is cooking the whole campsite including stray dogs gather in the camp kitchen.

Today’s menu consisted of casserole with sausage, bacon, cream, potatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and wine. Easily the best meal I had in a year. Luckily you don’t have to care about calories when you are a cyclist 🙂
