Day 1757, Whiteville to Roseboro: Old and New Friends

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Sep - 02 - 2015

Distance: 117.5 km
Ride time: 5:26:23
Average: 21.6 km/h
Max speed: 41.8 km/h
Total: 39588 km

Last night Neill and his wife had already left their lake house to go back to Clarkton where they normally live. I locked the door behind me as I left in the morning. Thanks for such a nice stay!

I love the quiet country roads and small towns out here in rural North Carolina.

The afternoon would bring a reunion with two good friends. First there was Dennis K7BV and his wife Lieska who I have not seen for several years – and then there was Dan K1TO who I met in Florida a couple of weeks ago. We all went out to eat at the local Ruby Tuesday before driving over to see Dennis’ house. Good times with good people!

Dennis, Lieska and Dan would not be the only nice people I would meet today. Once again friends of friends, Marci and Jeff, had invited me to stay for the night. I almost felt bad since Jeff had been cooking a wonderful chicken meal but I had already been eating with my other friends. Oh well, I waited another hour and had dinner number two for the night; problem solved!

One Response so far.

  1. What’s a man to do, when presented with a second dinner? Just do the honourable thing and eat it. 🙂
