Day 30: Persani – Comamic

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Nov - 04 - 2010

Another sunny day in Transylvania! It looks like I have found the perfect weather window to cross this mountainous part of Romania before the winter sets in.

Riding into the medieval city center of Brasov for lunch was a real treat for the eyes. I would have liked to spend more than a few hours in this city, but in the horizon I could see the mountains that I needed to climb next.

It was Sunday and it seemed like half the population of Bucharest had chosen to spend the weekend in the mountains. The traffic was heavy. As I rode up the steep curves I got many encouraging comments from the passing cars. I almost felt like a Tour de France rider.

Reaching the top of the climb in the city of Comamic was a great feeling. From here it should pretty much be downhill all the way to Bucharest.
