Day 82-89: Christmas in Hurghada

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jan - 01 - 2011

After 3 months on the road sleeping in my tent, in hostels, and with friends, I suddenly found myself checking in to a fancy all-inclusive resort in Hurghada. The kind of place I normally pass on my bicycle wondering how all that luxury might feel.

What made this place special to me was not so much the luxury, but rather the fact that I was once again reunited with my mum, sisters and grandparents who had come all way down from Denmark for a very different Christmas at the Red Sea.

It was 8 days consisting of eating a lot of food (a touring cyclist and an all you can eat buffet is a match made in heaven), reading books on the beach, playing guitar and cards, and catching up with what was going on back home. I can’t possible think of a better way to recharge the batteries.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Thanks for following the ride, and for all the support along the way!

  4. Godt nytår Bo! Julegaverne bød på blandt andet på 3 dæk og 10 nye slanger. Så skulle jeg nok være “dækket” ind til de næste 5000 km 🙂
