Day 97: Al Minya

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jan - 12 - 2011

I guess I’m not really in the same shape I enjoyed before Christmas. After two longish days I felt pretty tired this morning so decided to stay another day in Al Minya.

Both myself and the equipment needed a recharge.

While shops in Egypt are famous for having two sets of prices, one for locals and one for tourists, I quickly discovered that this is not the case in Al Minya. A clear sign that very few tourists make it here. The hotel room was so cheap I thought it was a misunderstanding.

In the afternoon I enjoyed a walk by the Nile and did some research regarding the route further south. Everybody I talked with told the road is very safe.
