There is a huge difference between the touristic and non-touristic places in Egypt. In Luxor you need good bargaining skills or you will pay a hefty premium.
I spent the day doing website updates and talking to other travellers on the nice roof top terrace of my hotel. If a hotel has free WiFi and breakfast included I am happy.
The place even serves free sunset tea and cake with a view as the sun sets over the city. Not bad for 5 euros a day.
