Day 198: Phatthalung – Hat Yai

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Apr - 30 - 2011

Distance: 97.79 km
Ridetime: 03:44:04
Average: 26.2 km/h
Total distance: 9301 km

With the Thai visa running out tomorrow I’m now cycling fast towards the Malaysian border.

Just 1.5 km before my reaching my hotel in Hat Yai I was hit by a heavy rain shower. Luckily I was just about to stop for a drink anyway, so I was able to sit it out under a nice roof. When I rains in Thailand, it really rains.

I have very little knowledge about Malaysia and I’m not sure what to expect from the country. Looking very much forward to find out tomorrow.

    Hi Thomas..!

I really enjoy reading your blog! Randomly found it on the web today. I’m right behind you, cycling as well. The roads you’ve cycled are pretty much the same as I’ve done. So it’s brilliant for me to read all this. I’m in Krabi and on the way down to Bali. I’ll keep following your blog, keep up the good work. And who knows, we might meet up!

  2. Hi Sven,
Great to see you here. I’m now in KL and starting to cycle towards Singapore tomorrow. Would be nice to meet you on the road!

  3. What a delight to find your blog. I am not able to cycle as much as you but you are an inspiration. My upcoming trips are Hawaii, New York, Thailand and Vietnam. I need to find one or more people to cycle the Ho Chi Minh Highway in Dec 2016.

  4. Hi Michael! Great to know you enjoyed the blog updates. Sounds like some great trips you have coming up – I would love to go to Hawaii myself one day 🙂 Happy riding!
