Day 262: Negara – Kuta

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jul - 10 - 2011

Distance: 97.53 km
Ridetime: 04:36:13
Average: 21.2 km/h
Total distance: 12848 km

Kuta is the most developed tourist area of Bali, and the place where all the backpackers and surfers hang out. It is also located right next to the airport. As I was passing through the lush green landscapes where a farmer and his oxen were working in a rice field, I realized that this would be my last cycling day in Asia. It has been an incredible ride that I don’t really want to end, but on the other hand I’m looking forward to see what Australia brings.

As I got within 10 km of Kuta I started to see westerners riding their rented scooters. I headed straight for the beach – a beach that is one of the more crowded ones I have seen. The sunset was beautiful.
