Day 266: Bali – Darwin

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jul - 10 - 2011

I first entered Asia a November day on a ferry across the Bosphorus strait in Turkey. 8 months later I was going to leave this fascinating and diverse continent.

As I checked out of my hotel I went to the beach for a couple of hours before spending the afternoon updating the website. As with many other thing I’m expecting internet to be a lot more expensive in Australia.

My flight was leaving in the late evening so there was time for a last goodbye dinner with friends in Kuta.

After the dinner I rode my bike the 5 km to the airport. Checking in went quite easy. A lot of surfers are travelling with their boards from Australia to Bali, so at least they are used to odd size luggage. I had wrapped the chain and some other parts of the bike in plastic. I was happy when they accepted it. Flying with the bike is always stressful.

An hour later the plane took off. Next stop would be Australia!
