Day 498 – 504: Along Stuart Highway

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on May - 28 - 2012

It was early February when I came back to Australia after Christmas holidays back home. Like the first time I arrived in the country I landed in Darwin – the tropical capital of the Northern Territory. And just like the last time I had a couple of great days with my friend Stuie and his lovely family. Australian hospitality is something special!

I wanted to return to Alice Springs but domestic flights in Australia are prohibitively expensive. I was lucky to meet Clement from France and Katie from the UK. We decided to make a road trip out of it – with the added bonus of visiting some nice spots along the Stuart Highway.

This would be the same trip I made by bicycle 6 months earlier. While I had a blast making the trip on the bike, I was quite happy do the ride in a motorized vehicle this time.

Just a few hundreds more kilometers on Stuart Highway and we arrived in Alice Springs – right in the Red Center of Australia that I have come to love so much. I was reunited with my bicycle and got the chance to meet some good friends who were still in town.

Next I would be looking for more work.
