Day 1035-1056: Sydney and Cairns Holiday

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Dec - 07 - 2013

I loved working on the cattle station, but after 4 months in the outback a change in landscape was very welcome. In Alice Springs you are far far away from the ocean, so a holiday in Sydney and Cairns sounded just about right.

Arriving in Sydney harbour by ferry it was strange to see skyscrapers, and well, even people again.

We had luck with the weather in Sydney. This is not bad for winter!

Up in Cairns we went on a boat to a tropical island. While working on the cattle station this was just what one would be dreaming about.

Making the hike to Mount Bartle Frere, the highest peak in Queensland. I love climbing mountains.

Almost before I could blink the holiday was over and I was on the way back to Alice Springs. Two more months of work before South America…
