The cycling on the flat but very windy Patagonian pampa must have been hard as I needed five rest days in Calafate to be fit for fight again. Normally one or two nights will do. Luckily I found a bakery with local prices and Wi-Fi where I could set up office and start working on blog updates and other stuff. I love the bakeries in Argentina!
El Calafate is very touristic, but with a bit of looking around it was possible to find an affordable Hospedaje run by a nice local family where I could stay. I was extremely happy to be sleeping inside again for the first time since leaving Tierra del Fuego. The cold nights in the tent really makes you appreciate a warm bed!
I wasn’t very social or did much tourist stuff during my break in town, but I did manage to get a lot of work done. After checking the weather forecast and finding a suitable weather window (less wind) I felt recharged and ready to face the Patagonian roads again.
