Day 1963 – 1964, Otjiwarongo: Peacefulness

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Feb - 28 - 2016

After spending two days driving around my rental car in Etosha National Park, a problem had occurred: Back pain. I don’t remember having this problem before on the trip.

One thing was clear, I was not going to cycle anywhere for a couple of days…

I was looking for a cheap place to stay in Otjiwarongo, and the best place I found was the Church Pastoral lodge. I think this an old hospital with long hallways with wards on each side.

With few other guests around, the place had a very quiet and almost meditative feeling to it. I liked being there.

The best thing I could do was to lie in bed. Walking around was also acceptable, but sitting up almost impossible: Not a good situation for a cyclist.

I’m hoping the back situation would improve fast so I can continue north.

One Response so far.

  1. Obviously you got over the back pain. But it certainly doesn’t sound nice!
