Day 1970, Tsumeb – Grootfontein: The Back is Back

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Mar - 01 - 2016

Distance: 59.4 km
Ride time: 3:11:32
Average: 18.6 km/h
Max speed: 35.6 km/h
Total: 45812 km

After three days of lying down I was happy to be back on the bike for a short 3 hour ride over to Grootfontein. The back felt much better, but of course its always wise to start slow after a break…

The landscape continues to be lush and green in this part of Namibia. It felt good be to rolling again – especially thought a kind of landscape like this which I like a whole lot.

During my stay in Tsumeb I had managed to download a number of new podcast episodes, so the ride went by fast. Before I knew it I was on top of a 1500 m hill and was rolling down the other side towards Grootfontein.

I checked into a guesthouse around lunch time and went over to a supermarket to stock up on food. From here it is 250 km towards the next town Rundu, and on my map it doesn’t look like there is anything in between.
