Day 64: Alanya

Alanya is another popular package tour destination – especially with Scandinavians. Having cycled for two months through Eastern Europe and Turkey it feels really strange to see signs written in Danish in the streets!

I had been looking forward to meet my cousin Jesper and his small family on holiday in Alanya. Or so I thought. When I went to an internet cafe to check the route to their hotel, I realized I had made a reading mistake. Their hotel was indeed not located in Alanya but in Antalya some 130 km away! I’m probably not the first person in history having mixed up these cities with their similar names. As I had already booked another bus ticket for the night, there would be no chance to meet meet this time. Major bummer!
