Day 77: Amman – Aqaba

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Dec - 29 - 2010

Distance: 20.43 km
Ridetime: 0:39:35
Average: 31.1 km/h
Total distance: 3984 km

Riding the last 20 km from the desert into Aqaba marked another important milestone of the trip. I have now reached the Red Sea which means a whole different climate compared to the inland desert. While the temperature in Amman can get close to zero in the winter it is usually above 20 in Aqaba. From here I am pretty much expecting warm and tropical climate for rest of the journey!

The descent into Aqaba was quite a ride.

Aqaba itself is a modern resort town clearly catering to tourists. Now I’m again hearing German and Dutch in the streets.
