Day 112: Mangalore

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jan - 29 - 2011

In the morning I could see some demonstrations going on down in the streets from my hotel room. Pai, my incredible host in Mangalore, explained that the whole state had been shut down and was on strike for a day. Including the local bicycle repair shop which I called to inquire about the broken gear cable. Luckily the cable was available and should be easy to replace after the weekend.

In the afternoon we met with the local radio community. I had the pleasure of meeting the same bunch of friendly guys two years ago. It was a happy reunion.

Mangalore is a student city resulting in a lively night life scene. In the evening I went out with Pai for a few King Fisher beers. It was quite late before I made it back to the hotel.
