Day 812: Salt Creek – Kingston

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Dec - 23 - 2012

Distance: 97.59 km
Ridetime: 5:36:43
Average: 17.4 km/h
Max speed: 25.9 km/h
Total distance: 16211 km

I woke up at 6 o’clock but decided to sleep an hour longer as I waited for the sun to warm things up a bit. By the way, I’m never using an alarm clock these days. Going to bed when it gets dark and waking up when the sun rises and the birds start to sing is working just great.

The wind improved somehow compared to yesterday, and with the beautiful setting along the Southern Ocean I was one happy cyclist today!

As I arrived in Kingston I made a phone call to Tony, a friend of Sasi who I stayed with in Adelaide. I thought I would just go and meet Tony for a coffee, but immediately I was invited to stay for the night.

I had planned to cycle 30 km more, but Tony’s offer was hard to turn down. Soon we were having a big dinner, wine and dessert which somehow beat the pasta and baked beans I would otherwise have had.

Life is full of good surprises!
