Day 1317, Belén – Hualfin: From South to North

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Jun - 04 - 2014

Distance: 77.25 km
Ride time: 5:46:23
Average: 13.35 km/h
Total: 26515 km

I left Belén and cycled through a beautiful valley on my way north towards Salta. Behind me I had dark clouds the whole day, but when I looked in front the sky was mostly blue. That was a very good motivation to keep pushing the pedals around.

A road sign told me that there was only 385 km or some 4 days of cycling to Salta. Another milestone is getting closer. Salta is located in the far north of Argentina, not far from the border with Bolivia. I was thinking about the day I cycled out of Ushuaia down there on the southern tip of the continent. It has been quite a ride since then.

As usual finding a place to pitch the tent was not a problem. I simply pulled over to the side of the road and set up camp next to a river. In the distance I could see two kids riding their horses into the sunset.
