I was happy and sad at the same time as I said goodbye to Kelsey and Susan. Happy that they had given me such a wonderful welcome to Nova Scotia, sad that I couldn’t stay longer.

Today I was heading towards my friend Anna’s hometown of Tatamagouche. I met Anna last winter when we lived in the same house in Colombia. Already back then she had invited me to pass by her town when I came to Canada. Now I was almost there – getting closer to Tatamagouche, the place with the complicated name on the northern shore of Nova Scotia.

I was following a route called the Sunrise Trail. I was a bit too late to catch the sunrise, but I was enjoying the beautiful views over the Golf of St. Lawrence throughout the day.

As I entered Tatmagouche I gave Anna a call. We met at the coffee shop/bicycle rental where she works. Yeah, Anna likes cycle herself, and we are even planning a bit of riding together the coming days.

For a beginning we were riding out to Anna’s house which is located at the end of a dirt road, on the top of a hill, out in the woods. Last time I saw Anna we were eating Arepas in Cali. Now we were here, enjoying a big family dinner in the woods of Nova Scotia.

Once again I had jumped right into some amazing Canadian hospitality. There is something about this country… Thanks for the welcome Anna!
