Day 1226 – 1229: Puerto Tranquilo

Posted by Thomas Andersen Posted on Feb - 03 - 2014

The few travelers who end up in Puerto Tranquilo come to see the Marble Pillars on the lake. Neither José, a Spanish guy I had met a few days earlier, nor myself are normally much into tours, but this one was cheap, the weather was great, so off to the lake we went. We didn’t regret!

To be on the lake was a nice change to be on the bike, and the million year old marble formations was a remarkable sight. They reminded both José and me of similar formations in Thailand.

I liked that I could just sit back and enjoy the show, but somehow I was thinking that you appreciate things more when you have to work for them. Well, there will be plenty of challenging cycling during the next weeks…
